These are designed to recognize and reward excellence in marketing in the DFW area in various marketing categories.

Rules and Eligibility Requirements for Entries


  1. All entries must include a 100% completed submission form and conform to the entry requirements and questions.  Failure to submit a completed submission form could result in entry disqualification.
  2. The completion of all materials and work entered into the AMA DFW Marketer of the Year Awards competition must have been within the calendar year of January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.
  3. Each entry can only be submitted into one category that best suits the work being entered. The judging panel can, at their discretion, move an entry into another category if they feel it is better suited for the entry.
  4. Upon the completion of judging, finalists will be informed and would be REQUIRED to submit the following for placement on the MOY website and program booklet:
    • A JPEG file, 300 x 450 pixels creative graphic (portrait or landscape) of the marketing campaign entry
    • Not more than 300 words summary of the entry


  5. Specifically for the Marketer of the Year Awards Gala, the finalists are REQUIRED to submit a board (in soft copy, not printed)  to showcase your work at the event. The requirements include:
    • Finished image size to be 24″ x 36
    • File must be formatted in a landscape (horizontal) composition
    • It must include: Company name submitted, Entry Title, Date of Implementation of Project, Entry Category, brief summary of challenge and results
    • It may include images or work created examples that were submitted with the original entry
    • Work will be printed by AMA DFW and be on display at the Awards Gala
    • Additional details and deadlines for file submissions will be sent directly to the finalists


  6. All award nominees (either the company or agency) must be based in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metropolitan area to be eligible to enter; this award is not limited to AMA DFW Members.
  7. Individuals may enter the Marketer of the Year Awards more than once, but each entry must be of a different marketing program or set of work. Agencies may enter more than one for a client, but each entry must be of a different marketing program or set of work.
  8. All judges involved in the judging panel and their immediate families, companies, and/or work that they have directly completed for clients are not eligible to enter into the awards competition.
  9. All entries must be of real marketing efforts with a purpose of solving a problem or challenge with a stated and measurable end result.  No conceptual, hypothetical or abstract work will be considered.
  10. The AMA DFW and the judging panel reserve the right to reject or disqualify any entry which does not conform to the entry rules and guidelines or that does not complete the submission form in its entirety.
  11. The AMA DFW and the judging panel reserve the right to strike any entry which is not appropriate for the category for which it is entered.
  12. The AMA DFW and the judging panel reserve the right to not give out an award in every category if there are not sufficient entries for the category to have competition among the entries submitted.
  13. By submitting to the Marketer of the Year Awards all entrants acknowledge the right of the AMA DFW to utilize all submitted materials and entry information for publications, exhibitions, and marketing of the AMA DFW Marketer of the Year Awards Gala.
  14. By submitting to the Marketer of the Year Awards, all entrants agree to furnish the necessary documentation for review by the AMA DFW to prove legitimacy of entry information if a question should arise related to their entry information.  Failure to provide the necessary information could result in entry disqualification.
  15. The AMA DFW and the judging panel reserve the right to rescind an award given out if it is proven that the work submitted was false, invalid, unlawful, illegal or otherwise infringes upon the intellectual property or proprietary rights of a third party.
  16. All entries must conform to all copyright laws – copyright infringement and/or plagiarism will result in entry disqualification.





Purpose of the Award
The CMO of the Year Award is intended to recognize excellence in executive level marketing leadership and will be awarded to one CMO in the DFW area, chosen from those who are nominated.


There is no charge to enter someone for this category (CMO).

How to Nominate

  1. Please carefully read and follow all Nomination Rules and Eligibility Requirements to ensure the nominee meets the necessary nomination criteria.
  2. Submit your nomination online, all nominations must be submitted electronically by March 18, 2019.
  3. All nominees will be notified of their nomination and will be asked to  complete a questionnaire.  The judging panel will evaluate the nominee based on their answers and completion of the questionnaire.

Nomination Rules and Eligibility Requirements

  1. All entries must include a 100% completed nomination form and conform to the entry requirements and questions.  Failure to submit a completed nomination form could result in the nominee being disqualified.
  2. Each nominee should be in an active leadership role at a company/business/nonprofit organization that is based in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex to be considered for the award; this award is not limited to DFW AMA Members.
  3. Each nominee’s business accomplishments and contributions to the business of marketing must have been completed within the calendar year of January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.
  4. All nominees’ business accomplishments and contributions must be of real marketing efforts.  No conceptual, hypothetical or abstract work will be considered.
  5. By submitting to the CMO of the Year Award all nominators acknowledge the right of the DFW American Marketing Association (DFW AMA) to utilize all submitted materials and entry information for publications, exhibitions, and marketing of the DFW AMA Marketer of the Year (MoY) Awards Ceremony.
  6. The DFW AMA and the judging panel reserve the right to rescind an award given out if it is proven that the work submitted was false, invalid, unlawful, illegal or otherwise infringes upon the intellectual property or proprietary rights of a third party.

Judging Panel and Evaluation Criteria

Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of distinguished judges. 

Nominees will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Their business accomplishments and contributions to the business of marketing
  • Their demonstration of superior leadership within and outside the organization
  • Their innovative contribution(s) to their industry/firm/market

Purpose of the Award
The Collegiate Marketer of the Year Award is intended to recognize excellence in collegiate marketing leadership and will be awarded to one individual or group of qualifying collegiate marketers in the state of Texas, chosen from those that are nominated.

How to Nominate

  2. Submit your nomination online, all nominations must be submitted electronically by March 18, 2019.

Nomination Rules and Eligibility Requirements

  1. All entries must include a 100% completed nomination form and conform to the entry requirements and questions. Failure to submit a completed nomination form could result in the nominee being disqualified.
  2. Each nominee should be a current undergraduate or graduate collegiate marketing student based in the state of Texas to be considered for the award; this award is not limited to DFW AMA Members.
  3. Each nominee’s accomplishments and contributions to the study of marketing must have been completed within the calendar year of January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.
  4. All nominee’s academic accomplishments (individual or group projects) and contributions must be of applicable marketing efforts. This may consist of individual or group projects completed in/for a marketing-related collegiate course (for credit).
  5. By submitting to the Collegiate Marketer of the Year Award all nominators acknowledge the right of the DFW AMA to utilize all submitted materials and entry information for publications, exhibitions, and marketing of the DFW AMA Marketer of the Year Awards Gala.
  6. The DFW AMA and the judging panel reserve the right to rescind an award given out if it is proven that the work submitted was false, invalid, unlawful, illegal or otherwise infringes upon the intellectual property or proprietary rights of a third party.

Judging Panel and Evaluation Criteria

Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of distinguished judges. For more information about the judging panel, visit Judging.

Nominees will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Marketing Challenge: What was the basic challenge that was presented to be addressed/solved/changed in the marketing project? Judging will be based on how clearly the challenge is stated.
  • Goal(s) or Objective(s): What was/were the goal(s)/objective(s) that were established to address the above marketing challenge?Judging will be based on how clear the stated goal(s)/objective(s) were.
  • Strategy and Process: What was the strategy and process that was identified to address the above stated marketing challenge and achieve the goal(s) or objective(s) that were established?Judging will be based on how well the strategy and process was related to achieving the goal(s)/objective(s).
  • Implementation taken: What was the implementation proposed with the project to achieve the goal(s)/objective(s) that were established?Judging will be based on how well these proposed implementation actions align with the goal(s)/objective(s). Judges will also be able to award points in this question for the utilization of innovative and creative ideas. Points awarded in this question will be weighted double in judging evaluations, please provide sufficient explanation and examples of your work created.
  • Leadership efforts: What is their demonstration of superior leadership within and outside the Collegiate classroom environment.
  • Marketing activities: What is their accomplishments and contributions to marketing-related activities including volunteering, community events and involvement in any marketing associations.
A marketing program, implementation or its development connecting key stake holder(s) with the Organization's social responsibility policies.  This may include communications that make the world a healthier, safer and more sustainable community and detail how the organization led the charge on diversity, organizational transparency, public health or education and how you engaged your employees in participating.
